All of our consultations are Medicare rebateable with a valid referral. On the day of the appointment patients will be required to pay the full amount but will also have a Medicare rebate submitted on their behalf by our administration staff if they are registered with Medicare. We encourage our patients to register with Medicare online to allow the Medicare rebate to be directly reimbursed into a nominated bank account, usually within 24 hours. We see patients with or without private health insurance. Private health insurance does not cover the cost of any consultations, but may be used if procedures in hospital are required. Payment can be made in cash, Eftpos or by credit card.
To see a Cardiologist patients should have seen their GP, a hospital doctor or a specialist first to deem the appointment medically necessary. GP referrals are valid for 12 months (3 months for hospital doctors or specialists). Referrals can either be emailed/faxed to us through our website or you can bring your referral to the appointment on the day.
Without a valid referral patients may be required to pay the full amount for the appointment without Medicare reimbursement.
