Most patients see a Cardiologist at the request of their GP. Your GP might be worried about your heart, or need specialist input into the management of your symptoms. You may also be referred to Bond Cardiology by another specialist, cardiologist, hospital doctor or directly from an Emergency Department. Specialist and hospital referrals are only valid for 3 months, but your GP can provide you with a referral that is valid for 12 months. Referrals can either be emailed/faxed to us through our website or you can bring your referral to the appointment on the day. Please note that this practice does not accept indefinite referrals. We advise that you arrive 5-10 minutes early to provide any information we may require. Free parking is available on site. Wear a shirt if possible or a comfortable top that is easy to remove to allow for appropriate clinical examination and tests. You will be contacted by phone or SMS a few days before your appointment to confirm that you are still available to attend. If you are unable to attend for any reason, please inform us as soon as possible so we can arrange another suitable time for you. Confirming your appointment
For a full explanation of our fee schedule and costs of Holter monitoring, please contact our rooms. All our consultations are Medicare rebateable provided you have a valid referral from your GP or specialist. That means that on the day of your appointment you will be required to pay the full amount but you will also have your Medicare rebate submitted on your behalf by our administration staff. We encourage our patients to register with Medicare online to allow the Medicare rebate to be directly reimbursed into your nominated bank account, usually within 24 hours. Payment can be made in cash or by Eftpos/credit card. Patients with or without private health insurance are welcome at our practice. Private health insurance does not cover the cost of any office consultations, but may be used if procedures in hospital are required.Payment and Fees
Following your first consultation, a letter will be sent to your GP summarising the consultation and diagnosis and will include changes to your medications, planned investigations or procedures and plans for follow up. At Bond Cardiology we value communication and empowering our patients with all available information about their condition. Any surgical or invasive procedure carries risks. Before proceeding, you should ensure these have been adequately explained and you understand the risks and benefits of having such a procedure.How we work with your GP
